Talent Acquisition Team Manager 18m FTC

Play a key role in recruiting the talent that we need to advance our exciting business ambitions and to deliver outstanding healthcare services to our patients and customers across the UK.

About the role  

As an experienced talent and resourcing manager, you will confidently build our pipeline of talent in this role, whilst effectively managing a busy team and stepping up our clinical attraction strategy.

You will review and develop our in-house talent acquisition function and existing ways of working to ensure that we are delivering a proactive, efficient, and forward-thinking service. Working with key stakeholders across the business you will develop a comprehensive talent strategy which will guarantee that each specific business area is able to build the talent pipelines they need to thrive and achieve our future goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Line-manage three Talent Acquisition Leads working within Ascenti’s People Team.
  • Develop improved ways of working and foster a positive team dynamic.
  • Improve utilisation of our systems and how workload and team capacity is managed.
  • Optimise opportunities to build our talent pipeline and improve attraction.
  • Advance opportunities to improve KPIs relating to our cost per hire and time to hire.  
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and internal customers.
  • Produce clear reports and share recruitment statistics with internal customers.
  • Work closely with others in the wider People Team to embed modern and best practice processes and systems relating to the onboarding of new talent.
  • Champion best practice and innovation when it comes to the candidate experience.
  • Lead on key Talent Acquisition projects and initiatives, acting as a first point of contact and expert within the business.

Essential experience and skills

  • Talent and recruitment experience within a senior management role.
  • Strong track record of effectively recruiting skilled workers directly and operating as part of a busy in-house recruitment team.
  • Experience of line management, managing team budgets and managing resourcing partners.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong IT skills and experience of working with HR / talent systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written content and reports.
  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • A flexible approach with the ability to adapt quickly to meet the demands of a busy team managing a high volume of recruitment work.
