Marketing & Communications Coordinator (12m FTC)

Your purpose

As our Communications and Marketing Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in supporting a fast-paced and integral in-house Communications Team.

You will contribute to the day-to-day running of the team, with a focus on our digital platforms and creative content in order to raise our online presence and help us to look good to the outside world.

How your role fits within our team

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be part of Ascenti’s award winning Communications Team. This role is a 12-month fixed month contract to cover a period of maternity leave, but with potential for this to be extended depending on team requirements.

You will report into the Internal Communications Lead while supporting the work of our Commercial Marketing Officer. You will work closely with wider teams in the business, including Ascenti Digital and the Commercial Team, as well as liaising with external agencies and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

Digital Marketing

  • Manage weekly content calendar, contributing to regular content planning sessions.
  • Lead on our SEO content output, carrying out keyword research and liaising with experts across the business to produce evergreen content for the website.
  • Brainstorm, create and schedule regular social media content.
  • Produce reports on social media activity and successes.
  • Support the planning, maintenance and updating of our company websites.
  • Monitor website analytics and use UX tools to ensure websites are performing effectively.
  • Edit short videos for social media channels and our websites using Adobe Premiere Pro or Renderforest (Training provided).
  • Support the Commercial Marketing Officer with any technology driven requirements from new partnerships relating to the Ascenti website or online booking.
  • Provide communications support to the Ascenti Digital Team relating to patient experience, including leading on app content, asset creation and email templates.
  • Lead on the improvement of our online reputation, including the management and monitoring of review sites.
  • Send weekly patient surveys.
  • Manage website forms and data.

Team admin support

  • Manage photography assets and lead on a project to refresh our in-house media library.
  • Edit and prepare photography for external use using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Gathering patient testimonials, news articles and blogs for publishing on our websites.
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the wider communications team, including internal communications, as and when required.

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Excellent computer literacy and IT skills.
  • Understanding of how to use branding and house style guides.
  • Best practices for creative copywriting and engaging content.
  • Key marketing techniques and channels, including social media platforms.

Desirable:   

  • Skilled in using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
  • Knowledge of emerging digital marketing trends.  
  • Current SEO best practices.

Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience working within a marketing or communications role.
  • Strong track-record of producing high-quality written content.
  • Evidence of strong collaborative working.
  • Planning and working in a highly organised way to deliver objectives, on-time and on budget.

Desirable:

  • Using content management systems (CMS).
  • Producing analytic reports.
  • Experience of improving CRO.
  • Stakeholder management.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable:

  • Professional membership with related institutions or evidence of continued personal development.
