COVID-19: Our commitment to you

The future of healthcare may look different, but safety has always been a fundamental part of physiotherapy with Ascenti, and that will never change. 

Since we first reopened clinics in June, we have been operating with enhanced safety measures so that you can feel confident when you step into one of our clinics. This includes screening our staff and patients, special safety training for our physiotherapists and the provision of PPE equipment. 

We are CQC registered and a trusted partner to the NHS, which means that our dedicated Governance and Quality Team are on top of all the latest thinking and guidance relating to covid-19. 

The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. 

How do you know that it is safe for clinics to be open?

The decision to keep each clinic open is one that we have considered very carefully.  

Our decision making is based on guidance from the government and your local authority, as well as regulatory advice for healthcare providers, including guidance from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Alongside reviewing this information regularly, we have conducted a thorough programme of risk assessments and are working closely with our physiotherapists to ensure that our clinics are open safely. 

Will I need to be screened or checked before I attend a clinic?

Yes. Before you are booked in for an in-clinic physiotherapy appointment you will speak with a member of our contact centre team or a physiotherapist.  

They will ask you important questions that will enable us to determine if in-clinic treatment is right for you and safe for everyone. 

What will I need to do differently when I visit an Ascenti clinic?

In line with government safety protocol, if you have symptoms or you have been told by Test and Trace to self-isolate, you should not attend any of our clinics.

We will check this with you as part of our screening conversation before booking you into clinic, but if things change afterwards you must let us know to rearrange. 

If you start displaying symptoms of coronavirus before your appointment, please do not come into clinic and contact our Customer Service Team on 0330 678 0850 to rearrange or cancel your appointment. 

When attending your appointment, you must follow the steps below:

  • Only enter 5 minutes (max) before your appointment 
  • Remain outside if there are no free waiting area seats 
  • Maintain 2m distance from others within waiting room areas 
  • Use hand sanitiser before and after your appointment 
  • We encourage the use of face coverings as per government guidance 
  • Follow the guidance in clinic for social distancing 
  • Attend your appointment alone unless a chaperone is essential 
  • Your Physiotherapist will be wearing appropriate PPE 

How do I know that my physiotherapist is safe to see?

In the same way that we are checking patients attending our clinics, we are also screening our own staff carefully to ensure that they are fit and safe to be treating you in clinic. 

All Ascenti physiotherapists and clinics are fully equipped with PPE (personal protection equipment), including: sanitising equipment, face masks and eye protection. 

Our physiotherapists have also completed special COVID-19 safety training to ensure that they know how to manage safety stands in clinics carefully. 

What if I don’t want to attend an in-clinic appointment?

If for any reason you are unable to attend your appointment in clinic, we may be able to continue your treatment using our online physiotherapy services.

If you have been invited to attend an in-clinic appointment but would prefer for your appointment to be carried out as a video consultation, please contact us as soon as possible to rearrange.
