Our National Lead Clinician, Nick Worth and Clinical Training and Development Lead, Alison Day, were celebrated as ‘health heroes’ and took home the trophy at an event hosted at the London Science Museum on Wednesday 20 November.
Run by Skills for Health and sponsored by NHS Health Education England, the Our Health Heroes awards celebrate health workers who are the backbone of the sector.
Learning and Development Team of the Year was a popular category and a close contest that received more than 90 entries, highlighting excellence in training across the sector.
Since 2018 Ascenti has made an unprecedented investment in the training and development of our workforce which includes 300 directly employed physiotherapists, helping to position us as one of the best places for physiotherapists to work in the UK.
Ascenti appointed a new Clinical Development Team made up of leading university lecturers and some of the best clinical minds in the country, led by Nick Worth and Alison Day.
They introduced a programme of improvements that now mean Ascenti physiotherapists benefit from 130+ hours of continuing professional development (CPD) time annually, which is made up of one-to-one, group and virtual training sessions, as well as roadshow events. The business also invested in a new progression and pay structure, as well as reforming the appraisals process which is now based on core values and celebrates exceptional patient care.
