People Coordinator (12-month FTC)

Your purpose
Our People Coordinator keeps our key HR processes and people administration work moving day to day and our systems in great shape, playing a crucial role in connecting our workforce with the business.
You will be processing a range of people data and paperwork, including pre employment checks, employment contracts and compliance related work. You will also support in People Team projects and initiatives which aim to improve efficiencies and advance our internal systems.
How your role fits within our team
The People Coordinator reports to the People Operations Lead and will work to support the wider People Team with HR / people administration activities.
You will communicate effectively with the Talent Acquisition Team, People Experience Team, Payroll Team and stakeholders around the business to ensure the smooth onboarding of new starters and effective management of data and processing contractual changes for existing employees.
Key responsibilities
Onboarding new starters
- Working closely with our Talent Acquisition Team and stakeholders to ensure timely onboarding and a great first impression of working at Ascenti.
- Processing offers of employment and issuing contracts to new starters in a timely manner.
- In accordance with strict government requirements you will process critical new starter compliance checks covering areas such as Right to Work, ID checks and criminal record checks, ensuring attention to detail and accurate data.
- Working to help problem solve any obstacles or delays to the onboarding of new starters, communicating with key internal stakeholders to update them on any service delays as is necessary.
- Liaising with our employment background checking partner to ensure pre-employment checks are received in a timely manner.
Processing and customer service
- Upholding strong standards of customer service, acting as first point of contact for any People Team administration duties or queries.
- Monitoring, processing and responding to general people queries
- Upholding high standards of privacy, confidentiality and data protection when managing employee data.
- Ensuring employee files are accurate at all times within the HR system.
- Working in compliance with appropriate company policies and procedures, and understanding and adhering to the Data Protection Policy.
- Utilising our bespoke people system to take a proactive approach to chasing outstanding pre-employment documents.
- Support People Operations Team projects that help to champion improved processes and ways of working that bring efficiencies.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications
- Strong computer literacy and IT skills; including Basic Excel skills including formulas, summarising and presenting data Excellent administration and organisation.
- Attention to detail coupled with a drive to complete projects and work in a timely manner.
- Good customer service and diplomacy skills, to deal with sensitive issues.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent professional experience.
Essential experience
- Working in an administration role previously, overseeing effective systems and processes.
- Strong communications skills and experience of providing a service / support within an organisation.

Please note that this position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Bristol and/or Fareham when required.
