People Development Specialist - (12 months FTC)
At Ascenti, we help thousands of people every day to elevate their health and live active lives. With over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors, we’re proud to foster a progressive, values-led workplace where our people thrive.
About the role
We’re looking for a People Development Specialist to join our People Team on a full-time (or part-time), 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a new and exciting role that will shape the way we design, deliver, and embed learning and talent development across our organisation.

Alongside this, you’ll play a vital role in developing and enhancing group-wide approaches to induction, succession planning, professional development, and strategic use of the apprenticeship levy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in L&D or people development who enjoys building things from the ground up and working collaboratively to deliver meaningful change.
What you’ll be doing
As a People Development Specialist, you’ll:
- Design and deliver people development frameworks, including career pathways, induction, and succession planning
- Lead on learning and development initiatives for non-clinical roles across the Group
- Support strategic projects in our Advo Health Business Unit and align outputs to Group needs
- Manage and promote the apprenticeship levy, ensuring funds are used effectively
- Create and deliver engaging training content via our LMS and other platforms
- Support improvements to key processes such as appraisals and feedback
- Act as a subject matter expert on people development across the People Team
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align development with strategic goals
- Monitor impact and ROI of development initiatives through data and evaluation
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and wellbeing
