The nomination recognises our clinical training and development programme which offers physiotherapists the best curriculum and learning opportunities beyond university.
Our workforce of 800 employees includes the largest directly employed physiotherapy network in the independent sector, with over 300 Ascenti physiotherapists delivering upwards of 600,000 treatment sessions annually.
We know that our people are at the heart of everything we do at Ascenti, which is why we are proud to invest in them.
Ascenti is the only employer in the UK to offer physiotherapists the fully funded training, support, and nationwide opportunities that allow them to progress through a complete career journey, from graduate to First Contact Practitioner (FCP) or Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP).
Ascenti physiotherapists are encouraged to pursue specialisms in areas of interest to them, allowing them to consistently develop and improve their practice, and thereby improve wider treatment outcomes for our patients.
We were incredibly proud to have won the same accolade from LaingBuisson back in 2019, and since then we have continued to enhance our training offering including the launch of an APP development pathway.
The pathway provides support for those wishing to develop along the advanced practice framework, from new developing FCPs and APPs who need support writing at Master's level, to the seasoned pros who need a refresher to hit these benchmarks. We have also developed a curriculum of modules for those new to advanced practice clinical work, teaching them all the basic knowledge and skills to excel in these often challenging roles.
As the UK’s leading provider of digitally enabled physiotherapy, investment in technology has played a key role in our business strategy for the last five years, which has further cemented our reputation for excellence. This includes the launch of Ascenti Reach, our pioneering app-based service that enables our clinicians to develop their skills in new ways.
Head of Clinical Excellence at Ascenti, Alison Day, commented: "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Excellence in Training award for a second time. It’s a testament to the value we place in our people, and our commitment to supporting their continued professional development. We are looking forward to the ceremony and wish all the other nominees the best of luck."
The ceremony will take place on 17 November in London, and you can view the full list of finalists here: https://laingbuissonawards.com/the-2022-finalists/
